Default My first attempt at boost, got some questions(LS swap in EF)

Hello, right now I have a 89 civic hatchback w/ a B18a1 swap. Motor is all stock, and compression read 205 accoss the board. I've always wanted a boosted car and now I have read up on it some what and have started to collect pieces for the turbo kit. I'm not looking for crazy #s, but more of just a quick daily driver(for now). So far I have aquired a 14b, and a conquest TSI FMIC. I plan on using this manifold http://www.stealthmodeperformance.co...ttubular.shtml. Now if I use this manifold and the 14b on the LS motor in my EF hatch is there going to be a clearance issue with the turbo and the radiator?? If so, I have heard of people using an EG radiator w/ some custom brackets, is this a bad idea?? Now I also plan on having the intercooler changed where the piping comes out the sides instead of the top. If I do this should I have the inlet side pipe on the IC a 2" and the outlet a 2.5", since I plan on running 2" from the turbo to the IC and 2.5 from the IC the the TB. ANd for the piping should I go for aluminum or mild steel?? I have a mig welder so I could weld the steel, but is there a big difference between the two?? Also what PSI is the 14b good too.

and the last questions what #s could i expect from my planned setup?:

B18a1
KRB tubular stlye manifold
14b turbo
3" DP, and 2.5" exhaust
Conqust intercooler(modified like above, w/ same IC piping sizes as above)
1g DSM bov
DSM injectors
Turboedit

Thanks for any advice

only prob i see is that a 14b is a bit small on a b-series. you'd have to push a lot of boost to make good numbers.
you will most likely need to get a 1/2 rad

No problem at all using a half size radiator .. just hook the fan up to a switch and have it running depending on driving conditions -

ON for driving in traffic or around town
OFF for driving on highways etc
You'l find out what works best.

Aluminium for charge pipe works fine

A 14b is great. They flow right about 30lb/min which is great for that motor.

You'll have a powerband that is huge on that motor. Guys often talk the talk of having 300whp with there t3/t4 but that 300hp is only for about 1,000rpm and is completely ------- useless.

14b on a stock LS should feel pretty good. With the right tuning should have the peppy boost responce of a factory boosted car. As far as the numbers go you may squeak 225~230whp out of it, around the 10~11psi range(stock obd-1+ map sensor limit). With gob's of torque...you'll definately be roasting tires.
