Default electrical problems

a week or so back, i shorted out something in my car ('96 prelude), and now i don't have anymore ABS, and my climate controls won't work. the lights on the buttons won't even come on. i don't have a defroster, AC or any of that. i've already checked the fuses, and they all seem to be okay. any suggestions as to what it might be?

Did you check the fuses under the hood?

thats what i would say my friend tried to hook an amp up with out a fuse just a wire running straight from his battery to the amp so after he put out the fire and the smoke cleared the same thing happened to him that happened to you but once he replaced the fuses under the hood his ac worked again

Check Interior/Engine bay fuses, if they are fine check all your engine bay grounds and exposed power leads.

Did you install a stereo head unit into your car, or have it installed, you could possibly have open/frayed wires within your center console up under the dash.

Wiring problems arnt as bad as most peopel think you just have to do trial / elimination, it usually takes a few tries to get things down, check your relays as well.

Seriously somthign a shop could quote you Hundreds for is a do it yourself $50 or less fixer, it just takes tiem and patience.
