Electrical Minded People- I'm a dork.

This is the way I have the master cutoff switch routed right now. Electric ---- makes my head hurt.

I need to know where I'm missing any fuses that I should or shouldn't have and the sizes so I don't burn the car to the ground. Also, what size fuses do people generally use on 200w amplifiers?

Oh, and I do have a fuse holder wired in between the relay and battery, but I'm not sure if 20A is good or...

This a kill switch for the fuel pump?

Try this diagram, no extra fuses needed.

for simplicity you can ignore relay 2 and all the wires connected to it. It's only needed if you run a turbo timer, or want the added reliability of 2 relays.

This splices into the fuel pump power line between the main relay and pump. Since it's using an already fused line you don't need to add any extra fuses. The relay consumes negligible power to operate.

For 200W amp: 200/12 = 17 so I'd go with a 20 or 25 Amp fuse. Slow blow to handle momentary max power demands.

My diagram is for the master cutoff switch on the back bumper, not just the fuel pump. The cutoff needs to disable the whole car, which is why the battery and alternator are on the same side of the switch, I'm just not sure if I need a fuse between the direct power to the alternator

So... All you need to do is kill the ground to the entire car with the cut off switch. If you're switching the positive side, it's going to be sort of like putting the battery wires on backwards every time you turn the switch.

Just have the switch INLINE with the hot wire right off the battery BEFORE it goes to anything else.

Like interupting it if you will nig. The whole iddea is to have the entire car go electrically dead when its switched off.... Like thizzzzz

And then the tech inspector says to go home because you weren't smart enough to know the alternator still keeps the car running.

The true meaning of getting fucken PWNED is when I correct someone in an electrical thread. This is why electrical minded people were invited.
