Default ECU? auto/man

i just swapped out my 99' auto EX for a manual transmision and i used the p2p manual ecu but it won't start. it will try to turn over but just won't. so i put my old auto ecu(p2p) in and it started right up. i was just wondering if anybody had any ideas on why the manual ecu isn't working. i don't know if it's throwing any codes or not but i didn't see any CEL when trying to start it but i'm gonna see how much it costs to get somebody to check my codes or try and figure out how i can check them. i've been rolling around for about a week with my CEL on and the gear selector blinking at me and it's getting kinda annoying. so any help will be appriciated.

check shop manuals for wiring diagrans at the ECU for both auto and manual. Maybe some of the nessessary wiring is different.

plugs will be diffrent. if you can plug them in there proberly the same but the p2p auto ecu wont work becosue it is checking for all sorts of sensors. i do belive you can change over the auto ECU to a manual tho.

i am guessing you didn't put a manual intake manifold or a manual throttle body on. the iac valves are in different places. manual=intake manifold. auto=throttle body. the only way to use the manual ecu is to change those over. auto will work fine.

IACV= Idle Air Controll Valve

The automadic has a 3 wire IACV and it is built into the throttle body

The manual car has a 2 wire IACV and on the intake housing.

It controlls your idle.
