ok heres whats weird, it took some prying and strength to get the axle to finally come out. ok, the teeth on the axle look good still, but now it wont go in all the way. so that could be the clutch?? and, for the idle, i read something about bubbles in the coolant line. we took the cooling system out could this affect it? we turned that screw on the throttle body but it didnt change the idle problem at all. we have no idea what else it could be. and there is a cel, if we could just get the axle i could take it somewhere and have them check it. this pisses me offffff.

The clutch will not prevent the axle from going in. Line up the splines and smack that thing in. Bash on the end with a rubber mallet until it goes in. So did all the fluid come back out when you took the axle out again? It should have, now you have fill up again.

the axle won`t just "pop" in because of the metal clip.
if you can`t get it in
put a zip tie around the clip. push the axle in to the tranny until the zip tie is being pushed backward. cut the zip tie and hammer it.
as of the idle problem.
make sure u bleed the coolent right
reset ecu
make sure theres no vaccum leak
make sure TB cable is not over tighten.
make sure the TB plate is clean so it doesn`t leak
make sure all the ground wires are on
adjust idel screw
if it still doesn`t work.. i`d try to adjust the bolt inside the cold idea valve loacted underneth the TB, whenever it came loose it will idea like ----, but if it is too tight the car won`t rev high enough on cold start and it could stall.

thats not right, i just got back to my pad from swapping my trans in my EF, if you have the right amount of fluid in it it will drool out of the axle input, it should take about 2.5 quarts. when you add fluid to the fill hole fill it til it starts to run out a lil let it dribble until it slows then plug it.

as far as your axle not going in just put the axle nut over the threads almost to where its level but not, then hit it in with a dead blow or sledge hammer, boom its in make sure its straight when its in.

from what it sounds like how you have nothing it sounds like your pressure plate wasnt tightened down all the way, no pressure no clutch, no move. good luck buddy.

the white plug on the back of the d15b is your iat sensor, if you're cel isn't on for it, then it's fine, and yes, the axles don't just slide right in, you have to hit them pretty good sometimes. you'll get it, this is just part of swapping an engine.

holler! yup, we got the axle back in and as for the bad idle i was having, we put coolant in the radiator and it stopped instantly. so the car is driving and idling good, but i still have a cel. buut. there is still the grinding noise coming from the transmission. it makes the sound when in gear and in neutral, but goes away when i push the clutch in? does anyone know what that could be?? i was thinking since i have a new clutch to go ahead and put that in, would it solve the problem?? and, what is the process of changing the clutch on this motor besides having to take the motor all the way out or is that the only way??

You had a new clutch but didnt install it when the motor was out bad choice. You have to drop the trans just has much work has pullin a motor in my opinion
