easy d series swap not so easy??

daaammmiit, i just wanted to say that because ive have been waiting for like 2 weeks to get a new motor cuz this kid blew his d16z6 and then we traded cars. so i have been out of a car not being able to go anywhere.

anyways, so friday i got my motor(jdm d15b)and we swapped it out today. well, after much turmoil the motor is bolted up to the ex trnasmission and in and fires up. so, my friends that know alot more about motors than me leave cuz they had to go after speniding all day at my house. they told me to put the transmission fluid in and it would be ready to go.
i put 2 quarts plus a lil more tranny fluid in and started her up. she is runnin good then the idle starts going from like 1500 to 2500 then back down and so on. im like ---- it so i pulled it out of the garage. i went up and down my street and then on the way back i shifted nto third and got nothing. just like someone else said in a thread. i pushed it into my garage and in any of the gears it just sits there, making a kind of grinding noise it sounds like, going no where. what could be wrong with this? as far as the idle revving up and down and my biggest concern the car being in gear but going nowhere??? p.s. could the idle problem come from the white sensor on the back of the intake mani being bad?

Vacuum leak and did you bleed the clutch

vaccum leak, any ideas where? and, bled the clutch at least to the point where it is kind of stiff. i didnt really know how to do it and i had my lil bro help.

i would say your trans problem is either the clutch isnt bled good enough, theres not enough oil in the tranny ( you did put 10-30 in it and not atf correct) or your tranny is fucked and the idle surge is either a vaccum line leak on the intake manifold, intake manifold gasket leak, or your IAC on the back of the intake is fucked, good luck....

it is your axle that popped out of the tranny.
the grinding noise is created by ur loosen axle grinding against the Unlimited slip diff. :P :D
check the tooth on the axle, if u hear grinding, it`s prob.ly gone already. $$$ :-\

im about to go out outside and check out the axle, and i put 2 quarts of honda manual transmission fluid in it. and as for the idle problem, which one is the iac? is it the white sensor on the back of the intake mani or the bigger black thing on the back. o, and from the z6 intake mani to this one, this new d15b doesnt have the evap purge control valve(i think thats what it was)

shouldn't matter, evap perge crap is for smog ----. u needa go all around your manifold and look for any open vaccume sources. plug anything ur not using and make sure there's NO holes anywhere. if that's not it then take off ur intake hose and put ur finger over the hole in ur throttle body. if it idle's down nice n calm them ur plug ---- on the back is screwed over.

More than likely donald is right, it's happened to me before too. Check the axles and make sure they're in all the way (i like to tap em in with a hammer now just to be sure). But also check your clutch and make sure it's bled out too, could even be a combination of both things lol. While you're at it, check to make sure you bled all the air out of the cooling system, as air bubbles can make the idle raise and lower too.

hole in the throttle body? we got the axle out and it looks ok, it definetly wasnt in all the way, but now we cant get it to go in all the way??
