Re: D16z6 Engine Problem Help!

is it a knocking noise.... or a ticking noise????

knocking noise = lower end

ticking noise = valvetrain

sounds more like knocking but 20x times louder. and it doesnt sound smooth at all. The more i step on the gas the louder the sound is.

no if the bearings go then usually they take whatever they are touching with them.

Ie. Rods, main caps, crank, and probably the block.

what they do is gouge, sratch and destory each other.

Replace the ENTIRE motor (get them to pay) cuz u dont want to chance it.

Re: D16z6 Engine Problem Help!

well took it to a mechanic and gave me an estimate of $1200 for the engine+ labor. bought the receipt to the oil changers corporate. And they wrote me a check. So now im happy! Plus I bought a D16z6 ShortBlock for $100. Is that a bit too much? Not sure if i should sleeve the block, Forged Pistons, Rods before putting it in since the motor is already out. Making it so much easier.
