I take my car for a spin last night, started the car and the idle was really low. And the engine would shudder and it felt as if i was running on 3 cylinder. The idle is really rough. Then I took it out for a test drive and there was no power in any rpm. I tried to rev the engine up but it keeps on bogging. If I ease off the gas, the engine would seem like it would die off. This is a stock D16z6 engine with no mods. It would idle at 200-500 rpm. Which is totally low.

I was thinking maybe it has something to do with the spark plugs or the spark plug wires itself. What do you think?

 

How long has it been since it had a tune up, change spark plugs and wires, fuel filter and air filter. If that doesn't work check to see if you have the check engine light on. What car is it?

 

no CEL 1993 Civic Si D16z6. Timing it correct

 

With the car running, take one spark plug wire out at a time, if there is no difference in the way the engine is running, your problem is in that cylinder. Have you pulled out your spark plugs lately and inspected them?

 

check your grounds. I just bought a car that had that problem, and it was a loose neg battery terminal.

 

mine did the same thing. IACV. change it with another one.

 

yea i'm guessing your cam timming is off check again. or your plungs fried
