Default d16y7 vs y8

what is the differnice between the too besides vtect?
should I change the oil pump in my y7 when i put my z6 head on?

I wouldnt touch the oil pump unless it's very high milage and you dont do your oil changes on time. OBD2 D-series engines are known for shitty oil pumps, I'm not sure if I would suggest a Y8 pump over a Y7.. in fact they are probably the same thing. Example, a D16a6 (crx si engine) has the same oil pump as a d16z6 (civic si vtec). So there really isnt to much of a difference, it isnt as crucial as a B-series vtec head swap.

As far as swapping the head on, its pretty much plug and play, just be sure to remove the oil oriface jet in the deck of the block before you put the z6 head on.
