Default D16a6 as strong a D16Z6?

i bought a Z6 for my 4 gen im planning on boosting it.

My ? is is the a6 as strong as the Z6 ?since im runnin boost i dont really need the Vtec if im nearing the engines stock holding power anyway. i hear of Z6s holding a little over 200 and thats enough for me. but if a A6 does the same thing ..ill get one.

Both bottom ends are pretty similar, the rods crank are pretty much the same setup. One doesnt have more of an advantage than the other. But oddly you see more guys boosting the ---- of of stock z6's with pretty decent sucsess.

those people are pushing the ---- out of those engines they would have had to rebuild the bottom end in order to with stand that much horsepower a z6 with ls rods can with stand about 220 hp, and thats with stock ls rods.

We have a member on our board who is pushing his Z6 harder than ----.. with a completely stock bottom end,

242 at the wheels, very impressive numbers.

i think its cause of the ECU it retards timing does it not?

no, the ecu wont retard the timing...thats what the BTM is for...

how much lag are you seeing w/ that turbo? i would imagine you wouldnt see full boost till 5k or so?
btw, do you know if you're leaning out anywhere?

oh yeah, and how does it idle those 440s?
