i have a D16A6 block that i can do a rebuild on, so i want to know if a ZC head will fit it, of so then where do i start, what do i get, i want to learn how to build up an engine and this is a start, what are some cheep but pretty good quality rods, pistons and cams that i can get?

ok dude the only zc head you could put on there is a sohc zc and the only diff in that and the stock head is the cam just put a zc sohc cam in there you can find um pretty cheap check thezcr.com thats a nice place to look

 

what about the rest? what rods/pistons should i get? and why cant a ZC dohc bolt up to it?

 

the more common zc is the non-vtec dohc. dohc heads arent compatible with sohc blocks.

 

zc rods and pistons are the same as the d16a6

rods the same pistons different...if you want a higher comp put the ZC pistons in the A6

 

ok let me correct my self the brown top zc pistons are different and give a higher comp. while the black top zc pistons are the same as the d16a6

 

so whats better to do a build up on? a sohc non vtec head or Z6 vtec head?

 

depends the nonvtec head is deff more turbo friendly than the mini me<z6-y8 head on a d16a6 block>
