acl and king are both good bearings.
Pull the oil pump out and open it up, I bet u will find the inside of the pump is kinda fucked.

again the oil pump is the heart of the engine, I never had a problem with my old d16a6 pumps but This is the second zc/d16a1 oil pump Iv had go bad

 

yah i just ordered a set of acl from one of our hmt sponser they were only 26.00 shipped so ill replace them im goin to drill the oil passages on them a bit bigger because i had the oil passages on my crank upsized ...i just hope my crank aint fucked...im goin to get some of that plastic gauge from the parts store and check the clearence were my bearing meets my crank and im goin to polish up my crank with some light emory cloth... hopefully that will do it

 

feeler gauge the oil pump gear to wall might as well since your ---- is apart

 

when u spin a bearing the crank is filled with tiny bits of metel and so is the rest of the engine.

If you have it apart I would send it to get cleaned and all.
Whats an extra 300 to do a full rebuild?

 

yah im goin to rip my cage and get my crank out to check all the main bearings and ---- clean out my oil pump the best i can ...i gotta make sure my crank is still good enough to use first though

 

i'm trowing my zc back together to, i have a z6 pump here for it ,a checked and measured it all checks out more or less( is 0.2mm of but it still has to seal), are you sure that the o-ring was good??

 

yup brqand new 115 doller a6 pump(same part number as z6)

I took extra care on my car, and Everything looked right to me.
it bolts up perfect no problems sept timing cover doesnt fit back on perfect
then when u fire it up it will leak oil out the back of the pump.

I made the $115 + labour time mistake from internet information

I wouldnt do it, thats y I spent 150 the next day for the 89 integra LS pump

 

theres alot more people here repping the dual cam than i thought. at least im not the only one.

 

do you have a d16a1 or dohc zc??

 

I got the SOHC zc. I would love to have the dohc zc engine after I rip this one a new one on boost.
