D16a1/dohc zc info people should know
There is a rumor on the internet saying that people are using a d16a6/d16z6 oil pump in there d16a1's and DOHC ZC.
People swear they are using them! There not!
I tried a d16a6 Oil pump(same part number as d16z6)
First you have to grind down the part of the oil pump that is in the way of the T belt washer
then that slides on no problem.
All the bolt holes line up perfect.
Once you finish puttin the oil pan/pick up/T belt/covers/valve cover/ wires/ upper cover/turbo oil lines.......
You find out that the passage is a little bit off and there is oil spraying all out the back of the pump from where it doesnt seal!
the only oil pump that will wor is a 89 integra oil pump, I will know this tommorow after the new $250 oil pump shows up from vancover and I try to throw it back in tommorow night.

there is no aftermarket pump listed as far as I could find.
I talked to my machine shop that builds engines all day and he told me that that oil pump can supply 5 times more oil then is needed.
I got the oem pump
215+tax's

Re: D16a1/dohc zc info people should know
I ordered it from acura local, pump sent in from vancover.
For the most part your oil pump will last as long as your engine will.
If u spin some bearings or that then its a good idea to change it because the tiny scratche's in the housing can cause u to lose preasure once the oil is hot and thin.
I would replace your oil pump with any build, y save 200 on a oil pump when you have 2,000 iin internals
