if you have the 8 valve pistons, your gonna bend 8 valves on the 16v head.

word... that's not good. just get a d16z6, you'll be happier... and it's not much more work to swap the whole motor vs. not knowing how to swap your heads..

the hx/vx 8 valve motors already have all 16 valve reliefs. only the 88-91 8 valve motors had only 8 valve reliefs.

Well, since the HX and VX motors were SIXTEEN valve motors, I sure hope the had 16 valve reilefs. Now on the other hand, the D15B8 CX motor which was the 8 valve, used the old 88-91 HF 8 valve pistons until the supply stock was used up. This occured late 1992-early 1993 production run.

1992 CX piston vs. 1993 DX piston.................

After having a 1990 HF motor given to me, I verifed the pistons were indeed the same.

Better yet instead of the b7 head. Find a a6 head and a z6 manifold. Same head but better cam. Just use a adj cam gear or the b7 cam gear I believe. I have used that head on my old cx block I had. My choice of the best nonvtec minime setup.
