I'm going through the same problem. I think you should try an find a d16 block and start building from there. The d15 rods from crower is about $625. My problem is that several people keep telling me that the ls rod won't fit right. The rods will hit the head when you try to start it. Is this true? Someone told me to try an get the ls rods from a 88-89 teg.Is that true?

I dunnoo....maybe I will be the first to do a 'write up' of a D series engine rebuild. If anyone has one of those Honda Performance handbooks, There is a real good write up in one of those. I have volume one, and there is a write up but not in very good detail. I know there is one of those books and in the back there is a very detailed D series rebuild chapter. I would like to know what book that is if anyone has it.

when i built my block i went with crower rods, srp 9:1 pistons and every trick outlined on theoldone.com. total cost was like 1700 for parts and install. im running 10 psi for now and it ------- rips. next week it gets a dh-racing box manifold, crower turbo cam and a 3 bar map sensor, then the hunt for 300 whp continues.

how much do you think you will be pushin without the turbo? JG engine dynamics has a dyno with about the same motor you have, all motor at like mid 200hp. I hope you clear the 315 mark with 12psi.

I retract my last statement.

http://www.jgenginedynamics.com/dynotests4

check the first one...its not 300HP but its still a 11.9 sec daily driver.
thats the head you have and everything. I think its pretty much how your car will look (from what you have said)

Just slap the D15 back together and blow it up, then get a D16 and start over
