Why custom rods?

for all that work just buy a D15B VTEC shortblock and build from there.

i always heard that you wanna run the longest rods you can get?
rod/stroke ratio....

Rod stroke ratio is something you worry about when your pistons weigh at least a pound each and/or your rod is much more massive, ie 100+ mm bore motors like V8s. There is absolutely no side loading (what the R/S hype is all about) worth mentioning on a small 75-85mm bore engine, as demonstrated by all the Honda engines worth a ---- that make any power when breathed on and last 250,000+ miles when stock and properly maintained have R/S of 1.5x which is OMG NOES YOUR DOING IT WRONG!!!!1 in the domestic world.

Worry about R/S when you're pushing some limits on a domestic small or big block, or mod motor. It is irrelevant for most of the small engine imports.

Worry about displacement and high rpm efficiency before R/S.
