help! attention all minime builders!
i have a 90 civic si with d16a6, i put d16z6 head on a6 block, the mini me...well i am using the a6 distrubutor...and everything is hooked up engine wise, but i cannot get the engine to start..i will turn over but wont start..i cant get the plug wire distrubutor combination down, i forgot to mark the distrubitor before i took the wires off...and can anyone tell me where the crank pulley should be at like the marks on pulley, i heard that there are three reds marks and the center one should be lined up with the mark on timing belt cover, i did that so hopefully o.k...can anyone help please, show me some pics or something...this sux ***...thanx..
i had the same problem when i did my first swap, it ended up being the firing order. go get a haynes manual from the auto parts store (a chilton is better if they carry it) and it well tell you your firing order and the #1 point on your dizzy. i would tell you but i have a b18, so the order is prolly different, i'm sure someone on here knows though.
yea the b18 is the same its 1 3 4 2 go look at the dizzy from the side view like where the plug wires go the bottom left will be #1 then go clockwise in order 1 then 3 then 4 then 2 rememeber #1 is nearest to timing belt good luck
dude i hope mine doesnt take that long...but i think i figured it out, i have been looking at the turbo projects page and see what the other mini me look like and the firing order is 1-3-4-2 and # 1 is in the far left bottom of dizzy, and then from there it goes clockwise 1342..so hopefully when i get of of work tonight i will try that, cross your fingers...can u guys think of anything else that might hinder it from working, anything from u experiened guys? thanx for all uer help, also i am putting my greddy turbo kit on it, i am taking it off of my d16a6...hope fully when i get vtec working i will scream..thanx..
so did u think the worst when it was happening, like this is never gonna work, because that is how i feel, all that work for nothing, just ananananananan then nothing...but daman i cant wait to get off of work tonight to try it, hope it works if it dont i will be back to fask more questions...so did it just strat right up or what? any other problems u had with it, that i should know about?
was the distributor good that you are using hondas are really bad for that little thing inside the dizzy called the ignition modulator or coil either one the coil was bad in my vtec single cam after you try the plug wires like i said i fit still doesnt work try that ive done alot of swaps and sometimes a couple woiuldnt start and that would be the prob
