A knowledgable friend says early 92-93 cx's had 8v reliefs.

shut the ---- up kids...what happened to the resolution?
And I'm pretty sure that without the reliefs there is still enough clearance to put a 16v head on that cx block. Take some measurements and be sure.

I never picked up the cx block cuz the dude wanted 50 bucks for a motor with a noise coming from the head (rod knock in reality).
So i said screw it and picked up a b7 longblock with trans for 50 bucks.
If i come across one ill slap a head on it and clay it.
