Well I belive that someone alread did that swap and it works. The reason is that the CX already has 4 valve relifes on the piston. I guess it was cheaper for honda to do it this way and not make another mold just for the CX. But yes it will work.

Thats not what im asking.

There are some random d15b8s with only 2v reliefs on the pistons.

All do not have 4v reliefs on each piston.

I am asking if 2v pistons will interfere with 4 valve heads.

Thanks.

Yes they would mash into the valves. Thats why they have valve relifes.

well if they had enough of a dish to them them maybe you could get away with it I think he's saying with using the 2v slugs. Plus he was asking if there anyway you can determine if the engine has the 2v or 4v relief pistons in it without pulling the head like if they had the 2v for certain years?

the pistons are not dished at all. they are flat top with very little room.
i read about this on the hf motor with 8v pistons. it will only work with a non vtec 16v head because of the cam lift.
good luck!

I just swapped a 16 valve head onto an 8 valve CX block. The pistons had 4 valve reliefs, as I believe all D15B8 blocks. Worked out fine for me......

Watch your ------- mouth. I dont care how many posts you have. Grow up. Have some respect.

Thanks for the replies.

I am asking because there is a rumor they will clear even with the 2v reliefs.

Thanks once again.
