Crossmember or traction bars on an EF?????
So i know that you can ditch the old stock crossmember in place of a modifed one like Jim fabs or like bumblebee guy

I have moved to making a style similar to the l-con/full-race due to issures with b-series oil pans, but I still place a brace to one of the factory crossmember bolts. Full-race ramps on how there is better but I have studied the literature on there site and found that their finite analysis in there right up is not valid. I'm in school for engineering and use the excact program the use so I know what I'm/Their talking about.
The tow hook I dea has never really sat when with me in an EF car because of the moment created by the frame horns. The only reason I know make that style is because 1: Its the only way to keep proper geometry with the suspension on b-series cars and 2: SO many companies make it in this format with no problems. I am thinking of a few new deisign to tie the tow rails together without losing the horn to horn support while still giving PLENTY of room for headers & dp's/oil pans. That is one reason why fabrication is on hold. To upgrade designs and to better my product. (and to give me a chance to work on my car!) |

I really can't say. I have never driven or tested an l-con.
I can beat on another product. Mine are home made in my shop because I have the tools and room and a bit of knowledge due to my schooling. From what I have heard L-Con has a GREAT product. It's just going to have to be what you want to go with. People say they love their Full-Race/L-Con, But people also Rave about JimFabs(which I believe has shut down now). Sorry I can't be of anymore information. Maybe one of these days I will do a side by side (meaning beat on one for 1hr then the other) and come back with my personal results. But first I must get my car back on the road! |

I believe both of the pictures are two different products that try to accomplish the same thing. If you want technical support on Traction bars, you know who to call.

well either way im not planning on buying one, im just trying to decide which design to make.

last week I welded up a shopping cart and made Derek a playhouse. It was firme holmes.
