Re: Crank Pulley Removal Problems

Soak the bolt for a day or two with PB Blaster. Accept NO substitues.

Then use a single, long socket and a 3' breaker/socket bar.. No socket extensions or cheater bars. The more extensions or cheaters you use, the more everything will flex and bend. You don't want that.

Get it set up all nice and tight so the breaker bar sticks out the front of your car and then kick it REALLY ------- hard. It'll take a few tries, but you will not get it off any other way manually. You need a good jolt to get it started. Trust me, this is coming from a guy who used to spend 3 days trying to get those ------- things off. No amount of leverage or long bars would get it started. I broke 3 or 4 sockets & extensions that way.

what about a long bar maybe a breaker bar just cross ways through the lugs on the hub? if its slanted to the ground and at good angle its not gonna move and you should get them off, but ---- ya try the brake thing, never done that b4.

haha. i already taken the exhaust manifold and oil pan out already.

I wonder what kind of metal is that from. I been searching through my tool box and throughout the house. And i cant find anything close to that metal he is using to bolt the flywheel to the tranny. Hmmmm.... Any ideas?
