Well i remember reading something a while ago about cleaning your combustion chamber with a cleaner. Some people spray it dirrectly into the intake manifold... some people pour it down the spark plug holes and some people use a vacuum line to feed it to the engine while the car is on...

My question is has anyone here tried any of these methods? If so was it worth the trouble I mean this would be a suppliment to water injection. to keep that combustion chamber clean.... and who wouldnt want clean valves and stuff

let me know what you guys think... i might try this tommorow.... (the vacuum line way) cause my exhaust ports are filthy.... and i can imagine what the rest of the motor looks like...

if you own a hoonda there is no need to clean it. the deposits effect nothing, u might dislodge something and itll get jammed against the piston and ---- your rings up.

i would just leave it.

Sorry ghetto I couldnt resist.But really pull your apark plugs and take a peek through it with a flash light.If it looks like someone put tar in there then I would say pull the head and take a brush to tose dirty pistonsand ender side of head.

I do that every time I change my plugs.I can see a little deposit on the piston but verry,verry little.The space over the intake valves looks shiney.

There is always the old V8 trick of attaching using a vacumn line to sip water into the intake manifold while you rev your engine. It pretty much "staem cleans" your combustion chamber. If you have ever had a blown head gasket you know that the cylinder that had water leaking in is spottless. Same idea.

What about an additive, or an engine flush? One of those chemiclas you use when you switch to synthetic.

88b16civic is right, the old v8 trick is called a "carbon blast" v8's really needed to do this since they get so heavily carboned up. Most Japanese cars never even get that bad, but you can still do it if you like. Also, I had a high milage a6 that was carbon'd all to hell, I got some Mopar combustion chamber cleaner, got the engine nice and hot. Took the intake pipe off, and while its running I hold the throttle about 15% and spray a entire can into the throttle body (without reving the car up any higher, and without letting the car die) just let the engine suck the entire can in, and let the car die after the can is empty (or make sure you turn it off imeditly), let it sit for a good 2-3 hours, so the carbon cleaner can soak. then go drive the living ---- out of it.. It will smoke for a good 10 miles burning all that ---- up, its a old trick we use to do with 4.0l Jeeps.
