yea i thought of that happening too, but seems pretty random....mike also brought up the fact that it couldve been possible that the clutch disk was just a hair larger than the pp and its stuck and wont disengage the flywheel...not common, but possible. idk at this point, i tried adding a 1/2 in spacer and still a no go. im gonna keep trying it until i have no other option than to open this bitch up again.

 

i hate to tell you but if you mod or change something on your ride and it puts it down for days without progress, then you've given yourself no other option already. tear it apart and start over. even if you don't SEE anything wrong, you'll probably loosen up anything that's bound up now. good luck

 

putting in a spacer really does nothing. I can't figure any way increases the travel of the cable.

really though, sounds like the friction disc is in backwards.

 

I think you would notice when you were torquing the pressure plate that clutch disc was in backwards. But I'm not sure I've never done it. Can you see the clutch fork move when the pedal is pressed?

 

um the spacer is key with alot of the extreme style plates depending on chassis motor etc. My zc cable l3 si trans wouldnt enagage the pressure plate correctly with adding a spacer I welded to the clutch cable bracket. After that worked perfect

i noticed after adding the spacer that there was really no more room for the arm to come up. it was hitting the tranny where the bar goes inside. im opening it up tonight, its my last choice at this point. just to make sure everythings correct. its just weird that i can hear the t/o bearing touching the pp, but once there is pressure put on the clutch pedal its not disengaging the disk.

 

alright took the ****** back off.....t/o bearing is working perfectly....problem was the clutch disk was a bit larger than the pressure plate, so even when the t/o would push on the pp fingers, the disk would just stay engaged to the f/w. no damage to the f/w or t/o, just the pp and disk. im waiting to hear back from mike about sending me out another setup, hopefully today. the cars been down since last friday and im tired of catching rides to work! thanks for all the help guys i appreciate it!
