Only bolts I torque are rod/main/head bolts.
Being the "tranny guru" that you are. Do you torque down the bolts in the tranny? I always do since they are small and mostly threaded into aluminum.

I had to bore out one of the 10mm bolts that hold down the shift mechanism in a friend's B tranny because the guys that supposedly "rebuilt" his tranny torqued it down too much and stripped the threads fromt he casing. They also cracked the casing were the 1/2' plug goes.

When doing trannys, I torque NOTHING.

Case bolts get ran down with a weak 3/8" impact with 60 psi air supply, then I go around with ratchet and "spark plug tight" all the case bolts. Tighten one, skip two..13 bolts, go around the case 3 times.

lol i totally forgot i started this thread until like 2 seconds ago.. but yeah its the clutch cover (pressure plate cover). i just did 20ft/lbs and called it a day. i agree they're not as vital to have in spec as like your head bolts.. Anyways. thanks for the feedback.

Next i bought .010" over ACL duraglide 780's to go with it. installed the crank and flywheel.

QUESTION:

Tonight, i just put in the stage 2 clutch. but have one question. On most honda's or toyotas. or whatever make . What is the ballpark of torque specs for the clutch cover? I did 20 ft lbs, but wanna know if u guys have even one or 2 number on your cars to throw at me to give me a good idea of about where i should tighten. I have a chiltons manual, but it doesnt go into detail about the clutch. Just the engine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
how did you spin a rod bearing?

No, as I stated before. Proper torque of flywheel bolts when the impact gun stops turning, Proper torque for pressure plate bolts, is when the air ratchet stops turning.
