I bought a Pro Clutch when my Civic was N/A. It slipped under stock power if you shifted hard. I took it out and compared it to the new clutch I got from Mike and the pressure plate was clearly machined wrong. I put in Mike's clutch and it never slipped again.

probably... i can't really argue with a clutch and 8 lb flywheel for 400 shipped tho.

And to donald - I have caught myself before with my foot resting on the pedal. but only like twice and I never smelled any burnt clutch after

This week I was driving on the freeway and I put it at about 1/2 throttle in fifth and the clutch slipped. I thought it was weird, but i ignored it and kept driving. It's just gotten worse and worse, and now It's getting pretty bad. It feels like a typical clutch going out.. but i have no clue how the hell a 300 hp clutch that should last at least 10k miles is going out on me?! I have been very nice to this clutch and haven't even done a single burnout on it. What else could be causing this?

Well being that this guy was local, i had to go visit his facility and check him out. Jimmy is a cool guy, however the products he sells are not made by him, xtd is just a sticker (stuff is made in korea) and he doesnt have a clutch rated for 300 hp. He only has diaphrams rated for 227 ft - lb as i recall. Worst thing was, he was asking me where Clutch Specialties heat treats their product.. not very smart to sell a diaphram that isnt heat treated? So.... being that the diaphram is not heat treated, would mean it would be weak in some points and lose its strength over time. So thats what i think may have happen, but it could be other things.

did u properly break in the clutch?? i have to go with oil maybe, or a glazed disk...your prollly gonna end up havin to take the clutch out AGAIN but if i were you..i'd go wit a more popular clutch next time..exedy, clutch masters etc.

I think all of the other clutch manufacturers also use daiken pp, but they modify it to give more clamping force.
It's what's done on the inside that counts.
