Default Cleaning a cylinder head

I bought a vtec sohc head from a friend of mine, is there a way to clean up the old head? It's not about dirt, but about metal that gets that oxidation look

Wire brush it, then spray paint it whatever color you want. Try and use some high temp paint though. I remember I ended up using some aluminum acid I got from my work (Bodyshop) and brushed my block/head with that, then rinsed it off. It shined it up nice but I must not have washed it all completely off because a few day's later it formed white powder on the surface. It's good now though, it just brushes off

Super clean works nice for me. If I run into a tough spot I'll pour some into my steam buggy(I'm not resposible if you kill yourself)and Supersteam it. Don't inhale the fumes.
