cylinder head bolt
well i was pulling apart my A6 this afternoon got 9 of the 10 bolts out and the 10th one was a real bitch. i grabbed a metal pipe to get more leverage with the breaker bar and got the bolt to move but it was really hard. i did that for a while and then it stopped moving. i cant tighten it or loosen it. any suggestions on how to get this piece of ---- off and why it is doing this./

Please tell me the head of the bolt is still intact 
be sure to use a 14mm 6 point socket on the bolt. Try not to use very many extensionas. Try to use a 1/2in 14mm 6pt socket with a small extension to your normal ratchet, then put a cheater bar on the end of the ratchet and rip that ****** off. Yes they are a bitch

no no. the head of the bolt is still there. the first 9 i took off where really easy. i used the 14mm 6point socket with a small extension and a pipe on the end and all 9 came off easily. this one is just a biatch. i got it about a half inch out and then i stopped moving. im scared to really pull on it cause i dont want the bolt to twist and snap off in the head. im might just get my dad out there with me and pull on it till it either snaps or breaks loose. if it breaks ill just get it drilled and tapped when i get it rebiult/

which postion is that head bolt in?
is it in the middle or the out most bolt?
allready this is a bad sign.
this could be a Bad sign that the Bolt was over torqued and cuased some damage, but there is no telling till you get it out and inspect the damage.
but if you lucky it will be just some debrie that was on the threads.
then chase them threads with a TAP. to clear it with PLENTY OF OIL. then clean the hole out..

Just give it all the force you have, and if it breaks, oh well. you have a 75% chance the bolt will still be sticking above the head after you take it off. Unless it breaks flush with the deck of the block, then you got a big problem.

well you got to the point of no return. 
But it has to come out either way. If it does not move with a rachet, try using a impact air gun. I think you are at the worst point so you might as well try whatever you can to get it off. You can always heli-coil the hole after you get it off. good luck and let us know what happened. 98ctr
