I have a 92 Integra that was an auto and I converted to Manual with a 91LS tranny... about 10k later it chewed up my speedo cable and i replaced it and it worked for a while... yesterday the speedo stopped working again after makign a whining noise behind the dash for a few miles... looked at the end of the speedo in the VSS and the internals of the wire were pulled out like 4 inches beyond the tip of the rubber sheath... so I guess my speedo cables are beign pulled outof my gauge cluster somehow... wtf?

 

ive had my cable pop out but never get chewed up. im guessing change the cable and take another vss off a ls trani, weird, but only thing i can think of. i have broken a speedo cable though. try it, vss's are easy to find lol go to a junk yard. ive had alot of da integras. try it and lmk what happens

 

are you using the clip or just trusting that little rubber boot

 

on my newest one, neither. ate it like **** at mickey d's.

 

You have nothing holding it in and you are wondering why it popped out? Am I reading that correctly?

whatever i use to hold in... the actual wire inside the cable gets pulled out of its sheath and CHEWED UP even if the plastic surround doesnt pop out.
