Ethernet Cables
I am selling Ethernet cables. This is kind of HMT related because I will donate $1 per item sold to HMT. What I have to offer is:
3ft straight through Ethernet $6 shipped
3ft crossover ethernet cable $7 shipped
8ft straight through cable $8 shipped
8ft crossover cable $9 shipped
20ft straight through cable $15 shipped
20ft crossover cable $17 shipped
40ft straight through cable $25 shipped
40ft crossover cable $27 shipped
100ft straight thought cable $60 shipped
100ft crossover cable $62 shipped
I can make other lengths of cable and depending on what people want will determine the color. Currently I have grey. Custom orders can be done and volume discounts are available.
Thanks for looking.

Why are xover cables more expensive than straight through? It's not like there is a difference or that they're any more difficult to make..
Are these made with Plenum rated Cat 6? 5e, 5?
How about a picture of some completed cables.
Do you test the cables? If so, how?

sounds like onyx just got a new pair of crimpers, a box of rj45s, a large box of cat5, and maybe a cabletester...lol. for that price that ---- isnt going to be cat6. by the way onyx, you should also consider selling rollover cables, in case there are any hmt router jockeys. the pinout is the same as straight through, but on one side flip the rj45. xover and rollover cables take the same effort and cost the same amount to make, but you have to remember that in stores these are more expensive than straight thru. im guessing that is why he reflects this in his pricing.
bump cuz onyx will donate $1 for each item to hmt.

besides hooking up to a broadband connection, why should i buy these?
If you have more than one computer, you can connect them together with a cross over cable to transfer files between them.
Sorry I just got to a connection, I’m at my mother in laws.
No I didn’t just get a box and a crimpier I have had them for over 3 years and I need to be making some money :P. I have been a sys admin for a major ISP in northern Colorado and have been making the cables for at least 4 years. My prices are cheaper than many others out there. I test them on my own network of 7 computers. 2 broadband routers with wireless, between my laptop and 24 port switch (HP). Rollover cables are not normal for a home network and are why I have not listed them. I also do ping tests to make sure the latency is correct and fast so I know there isn’t problem with the cable. Simply if it doesn’t work I will replace it free of charge IF you can prove it to be my cable and not your network. Also most routers now are auto sensing and only require a straight through. I will be making the cables in bulk and will make x-over cables by order only (this is why the cost increase). My testing is very complete and I will have a picture of a sample tomorrow. I do NOT use the damn socks on the cables for they hinder more than they can help. This is cat5e BTW. Other cables can be made but they will be a custom order. I am merely trying to help you, HMT and myself in this. I’m not trying to rip people off.
