was out hot ******* blew head at least thought was driving car shutdown started to back fire through my exhaust and died out when trying to crank the motor over the car continued to pop sounded like it jumped time so i checked it turned out fine pulled the plugs they were covered from top to bottom in oil figured i blew the head so i swapped motors with a good d16y8 that a friend had and one my boss had d15b2 that i pulled personally after listning to it run still having the same issues still popping through the exhaust have replaced the following :
Motor X2 One Vtec D16y8 And A Stock d15b2 Two Motors Swaps in Two Days
Ignition Module
Coil

Have the Following
Spark
Gas

Still will not fire

Help what did i Do wrong totally stumped the car throwing ecu codes of 6 &10
im starting to think my ecu went bad but no way to test it and that i just pulled and put two motors in my car for nothing any help greatly appreciated

I was out doing some rippers/shake down runs the other night grabed 4th gear on the freeway, and hamered on it. I let off went to get back on it and all of a sudden..............BOOM


Big *** back fire and then my car died.
Towed it to my house, pulled the timing cover off and eveything looked ****. Pull the dizzy cap and the rotor fell off the shaft because the set screw back itself out. Thew some locktight on the screw put it all back together and the bitch fired right up.

ill double check that other than that replaced
ecu today
fuel pressure regulator
risistor box today and still nothing
got a little frustrated tried some either and it tried to start other than still nothing
jacked one side of the car up and the fuel pump kicked on for like two minutes straight so i tried again it tried to start again but still nothing
im thinking its down to possible fuel pump either that or my dizzy went **** or my relay is shot
dizzy throwin orange spark so i am totally lost now

next step is to rip the interior out and start from scratch and check all the wiring in my car

instead of just trowing parts at it why dont you diagnose the problem will save alot of time/money

i have tried to diagnose and they were extra parts that i had layin around the shop thats why i tried other than that i am asking for help cause i have tried to troubleshoot myself ready to start from scratch again with this whole project

any other ideas willing to try them out other than that just spinning my wheels

still looking for help still not getting very far on the car tried troubleshooting the car it seems like it tries to fire but detonating in the exhaust taking the distributor down to have it tested tomorrow to double check that it is working properly other than that would really love to figure this out so i can have my car back so i can stop driving my work van around i have doubled checked all my grounds have double checked my electronics but then again i am needing to double check my engine harness that i made two years ago i did the whole dx to si conversion about two years ago so now i am startin to question my issues anyone else have any ideas let me know thanks

as posted before thanks for the help after everything all said done came down to a melted down rotor it melted to the shaft first one i seen seven dollar part and she fired and drove home today happy as hell been without my rex for a little over a month it sucked *****
