Car runs like ----, need help!!!!
Well, I took my car out of storage on the weekend and tested it out. It runs like ***!!!! The A/F gauge shows nothing most of the time, and when it does show anything I'm running ultra lean!!!
So today I got around to checking everything out and fixing an oil leak. The oil leak was fixed but car still runs like ----. Which doesn't make any sense since it ran like a champ before it went into storage. It seems to go inbetween two stages of running, descent (not as good as before) and shitty.
When its running like ---- it...
The idle is rough and sits around 600-750 rpms and sputters
Backfires and misfires occationaly while driving
Diesels, (holds rpm for no reason whatsever)
Has little pickup
Manifold pressure bounces around on my VAFC
A/F gauge displays NOTHING
rpm jumps when I push the clutch in (Both Up and down)
When its running descent it...
Idles fine
drives ok, but has less kick than before
Revs okay...
No backfiring or missfiring
Manifold pressure seems to be ok
A/F gauge either reads Nothing or shows the red bars closest to end (LEAN)
rpm jumps when I push the clutch in (Both Up and down)
The weird thing is on startup everything seems to be ok, The A/F gauge reads rich, exhaust smells rich, and it idles high until it get warm. At which it switches between the two previously stated running types. The only odd thing at idle is the rpm drops when I push the clutch in.
What I've checked...
-Exhast and cat, both clear, no obstructions
-O2 sensor, little carboned, but I've run cars off worse (cleaned it)
-timing, everyting lines up
-spark plugs have normal wear for age
-drained all the gas out and refilled with 94 octane and injector cleaner
-fluid levels, all ok
-checked electrical connections
-checked all vacuum lines
What I'm running..
-LS/VTEC
98 JDM teg B18B block
95 B16A3 heads (stock heads for the sol)
95 Del Sol VTEC Wiring harness
95 Del Sol P30 ECU
Apexi VAFC (same settings as before it went into storage)
DSM 450's
