so i got some flowbench numbers for the head. 310 cfm @ .3 lift

was told that ported vtec heads get about 325 cfm @ .5 or so

i was lookin at the cams last nite comparing them to stock cams and they have less lift but from the looks of them have very little overlap. i threw me for a minute and then i remembered that all the valves are 1mm over and the head it ported to the cams charactoristics. watcha think chris.

also got a deal on a 4 to 1 dc header today. so ima get a you that intake soon man.

Thats the most powerful flow #'s I have ever seen at .300 lift

If thats the case that head on a 2.0 block should make well over 300 whp+ and be the fastest b series all motor car ever

i got alot of pics of the intake and a few of one of hte bowls. this head has had "the works" done to it. i was talkin to him today and he said he had found some valves that he coulda went 6 mm over with but it was after the head was done already. i just picked up a knock off dc 4 to 1 for cheap . it has alot bigger runners then the cheapo i was gonna use. i cant wait to spray this ******.

really couldnt find a great angle to take a pic of hte valves so i took plenty of pics

There are several LS making 200 whp on B16 pistons, SK2 IM, 404s, and H/E with no porting. They guys who do make the power are limited to the guys who seek tuning. I've tuned all of one of those setups in my life. I've tuned more stock ITRs - you hear a lot about it but those setups are that rare. Everyone "thinks" you have to go VTEC for all motor power but whatever. Dude, I feel like you just hated on a ZC or something.

RLZ can get a stock LS head to flow like a B16/GSR off a valvejob, but I'd be scared of the valve collapsing with how far they move out the seat.

Common poor boy P8R trick around here is B20A intake valves dropped into the LS head. 33mm > 31 or 32mm.

Oh, yah, if the shop is a motorcycle shop they can port a Honduh car head pretty well even if they've never seen one before.

had a friend who did ls with a 100 shot. it was quik as hell. cant remeber the times off the top of my head but it was fast. he had the sk2 intake and he actaully lost .2 in the 1/8 with it.

but I'd be scared of the valve collapsing with how far they move out the seat.-- this head has already seen 30 #'s of boost and a good bit of track time. first time at the 1/4 he ran a 10.7 on 25#'s i think. but from there on out he has had nothing but breaking things one by one. replaces one thing the next thing breaks.lol.

well for the time being as i said ima spray it. first thing is a intake mani port from chris. then the spray tuned on crome. its gonna be real fun should be running next week. i havnt had a car of my own in about a year.lol. since i blew up my turbo d. man i miss that damn thing

Are the exhaust valve guides cut flush like the intake ones? If so I'd drive some stock exhaust valve guides back in there, let them protrude into the exhaust stream who gives a ----? Exhaust valves are the #1 source of hotspots/preignition and having enough guide there to support them and absorb/transfer the valve's heat is important if you want the setup to last a while. If it was a pure race application where you trailered the car everywhere and knocked a new set of cut guides in once or twice a season it'd be different, but since you are planning on building it once and milking it for a while... you get the picture.

i cant wait to drive this bitch. next year ima turbo it but ima start kinda small and work my way up with turbos. if i can find a good deal on them. lol. i would like to do a super 20g with a t3 housing but i dont know if ima just go str8 to a nice sized holset or wat not.

Well you heat the head to ~250 degrees in an oven and chill the new guides in a freezer, then drive them in with a shouldered drift. Ideally the drift is the same size shaft as a valve, and the shoulder is big enough to drive seat against the top of the guide. It's not difficult, but you need to drive it in the correct depth and if you don't have the right tool it can be easy to ---- up. 95% chace you'll just take it to a machine shop.

I'd avoid a 20G, they like to fail when spun hard. T04E, HY/HX35, get a real turbo.
