Re: brake caliper sticking
i had a softline blow on my old f150, i hoseclamped it back together and my caliper locked up, and the ceramic piston collapsed, leaking all my brake fluid out onto the glowing rotor and nearly roasted the truck.

Re: brake caliper sticking
i've done that several times, and it continues to stick once the brake pedal is released, only on the driver side
but the hose looks like it is in good shape.. just replace the rubber hose connected to the caliper? for now i am useing the E brake to stop untill i figure it out lol, and makeing sure to stay about 10 car lengths behind anyone |

If you take 5 min. to research for common problems that occur in the style of car you are test driving, you can ask key questions and see if the seller is a complete scamming liar to see if you are wasting your breath asking questions. I've walked away from a few boarderline buys becuase that trick showed the seller was an outright liar, if he was just clueless I probably would have bought. This quote comes to mind

But to the point the look of the rubber on the outside of the line has no bearing to the condition of the inside of the line, only can see if it's dryrotted or swollen. If you listen to what highroller told you, you can diagnose it a little further. ie check to see if the 'check valving' complex is telling you is actually happening. |
Re: brake caliper sticking
i listen but i dont belive most of what people say about a used car.
like i said i expected some problems with it and while more expensive then i was hopeing for it doesnt bother me its a strong runner and it'll be fixed by the end of the week, better then the explorer i traded for it also not to be an ass, but i responded to high roller saying i have done exactly that several times, with the same result. thank you everyone else for your help and info |
Re: brake caliper sticking
i didn't think you did cause you said it sticks once the pedal is released, not the bleeder.
I wasn't raggin on your buy, just those types of sellers in general piss me off. |

Re: brake caliper sticking
yeah after the bleeder is cracked the rotor frees up and i can turn it by hand again
i called around and they want $40 for that hose anyone know what others may interchange? maybe 90-93 integra? and no worries stenseltizm. i sometimes take people at there word because even if it is something easy, some people just dont know how. i work with a guy who put brake pads in backwards and cant change windshield wipers lol |
