bore size question and ring gap
got my new pistons and rods today and got to looking over the spec sheet on the pistions and it says to bore it over 001-003 extra for a forced induction motors. i was woundering if some of you guys have done this to your motors, with after market pistions the pistions i bought are je .20 over. i also ordered the je rings and they are file fit and it says to go 20 to 22 thou. ring gap is this to much of a gap or am i missing something just thought i would ask.
Not sure what you're saying about the instructions, but in general for your piston to wall clearance on FI you want to be around the .004 area. With the ring gap I believe when I installed my srp's it said to be .004 x the bore for FI.
Some pistons have the piston to wall gap built into them (84mm CP pistons aren't really 84mm cause they have the piston/wall gap built in, so they are just under 84mm) Not sure on your pistons though.
