Default block question

ok so i got this b18 block today. my question is, 2 of the headstuds got stripped out.

some dumbass cranked up the boost at the track and the head lifted off the block.

how do I go about fixing it? Is it worth fixing, and will I still be able to use arp studs with this?

if it is the studs that are stripped then replace the studs, if it is the holes that are stripped then tap them. simple as that.

if it is stripped badly enough then you will have to bore the hole oversized and tap it to the bigger size, if you are able to tap the hole to the factory size then you can use the regular sized stud....why don't you try it and see.

take it to a machine shop and have them install a hele-coil in the stripped holes. best way to fix it IMO

IMHO, not really worth trying to fix if it's a b18a1 block. Those are a dime-a-dozen, and can usually pick a bare one up for $100 or sometimes less. It takes alot to strip out the threads, sounds like the guy did something wrong to begin with.
