notching it in the car? man... talk about pain in the ***.

Pull the motor... do it right once. More steps? yes. Easier individual steps? yes. Plus you can take ---- off, clean and prep things on your feet rather than laying on ur back.

^^ loLz, and I thought welding exhaust pipes on a creeper with half a dozen jack stands hold up the car and the exhaust was a bitch!

I just did mine last night, crank out for sure, I dont see how it could be done with it in there, nor would I want to. There will be THOUSANDS of little peices of metal that will fly off, that will eat the hell out of you're bearings.

Edit: I brought my block to the machine shop today to have it hot tanked just to be sure to get it cleaned up good.

Your pulling the motor. Full teardown.

degrease before

notch

degrease again

assemble

do it right or dont do it at all
