Default Big power little motor

So I'm planning on making big power with my D. The only problem is everywhere I look for answers only brings me to more questions and problems.

Here's my question,What's the most power anyone has ever gotten out of a D16A1 ? I've looked around on the web and came across a guy on this very board with a A1 making around(atleast what he was shooting for) 400ish. I want to be way more ambishis then that. But there seems to be a few design flaws with cooling and oil starvage. I know I could go B or K(whatever) and probably make a more "practical" setup. The thing is I'm trying to blaze mostly because the car still surprises me even though it has had better days. I'm "hoping" for 600+,I have my shop backing me on this but I need to find out any more week point in the D16Al in perticular I might have missed. Can anyone help me out ?

d16a1 or zc's pretty much the same are a red head step child. Fastest one was about 10 years ago by myles butista of rev heard I believe he was running 11.40's in the high 120 mph range. Really you will need a big shot on top of the boost to achieve fast times/power this has been the answer of many d series turbo builds

I think the only 600+ hp d was the zex car and that was flywheel and that was with a very big shot. The worlds fastest 1.5 jason whitman I think made like mid 400's with a 150 shot like 7 years ago. Skill would be nice and if you do it you would become famous but do you have 20G's to do it if not throw the idea out and just go blow up some dx blocks

Well skill's not a problem. Hints why I'm doing "research" to see what I'm getting myself into. But if it keeps going the way it's going. I'm just gonna cut my losses and go buy a B20 stroke it and go from there. Thanks for all your help guys. I think I just dump the idea and cut my loesses while I'm ahead.

why stroke a b20 you sleeve those *******. Ya the only way to get any d series motor to make that kind of power requires skills that about 10 people in the world have and Im sure your not one of them

is the d series limited by the size of the motor? i know motorcycle engines can make upwards of 500-700 hp and they're a tad smaller.
