i am about to sell my other car so i can finally put my civic back together and was thinking about getting a new cam. does anybody know the best cam to use with boost on the Y8? personal experiance prefered

 

a cam will not do you too much good unless you do a valve spring/retainer upgrade also. stage 1 (whatever company) is about all you'll get w/o the valvetrain upgrade. I'd reccomend a crower stage 1 turbo cam as most setups are for N/A untill you get into the bigger badder costly profiles.

yes it makes a big difference. but what I am saying is a stage 1 cam and a stage 3 cam cost appx the same amount of $, only problem is the stage 1 you can use without the rest of the valvetrain being upgraded, however it wont make nearly as drastic a difference. you know what I mean?

 

Crane Cams makes a hell of a good cam, but its gonna run you almost $600, and then you need to get springs and retainers...crane also offers them, but they are liek $400, your best bet would be to either a. build your entire head, b. buy a pre built one (bullfrogs racing has a damn good deal at www.mmrusa.com, or c. forget it.

my N/A Z6 made a BIG BIG different with their stage 2 N/a cam..
oh wait it`s N/A ...not sure about FI tho..
