Beau drove over 75 miles with that light on, (new battery) and his alternator took a ----, it was only charging 11.2 volts, and just kept getting lower and lower. Your car is probably running off the battery right now. Do simple checks with a multimeter to see whats going on.

lol, lots of voltage huh, did we get the multimeter out or are we just guessing? The battery light will come on if the alternator is not putting out over 12.7 volts.

jumper cables... What dod u do to recharge a cars battery when it dies? Either another car or a little pre charged jumper cable set up. I still think its wiring, ur alty shouldnt have just gone bad, i only say this because u just messed with the car. did u do what i said about tightening them up? White wire (alty) to the first one

Honestly I see alternators go bad every day, and just for no aparent reason either. brushes wear out, diodes go bad. Its the way things work. When Diagnosing a charging system, the first thing to check is voltage at the alternator to see what is going on before you even go into wiring.

Thats what i thought you mean tby jump but i was thinkin why jump it if its not dead
maybe i will try throwing it on the charger...can't hurt right
