Default battery light

so i finally get my exhaust done and i hop in the car to move it and my battery light is on(while running). It has a newer battery and it starts fine. Does anyone know why this is staying on?

Check voltage @ the the 10mm bolt on the alternator, if its not putting out over 13.2v's its a bad alternator.

Tuda!! I think your problem lies at your main fuse box under the hood. Check the plug from the battery to the fuse box and make sure it is pushing down hard on the little square metal base... ull see what im talking about when u do it... theres 2 one from alty and the other from battery, do them both if ur unsure..

Well ---- with it and reset the battery a few times and see if the light goes off. It may just be a faulty light but i doubt it, you say the battery is new, id jump it just to be sure, and tighten those connections like i said.
