I don't know if the car will handle all the power on the front axle. Though I should be safe if people run over 600 hp on their trannys (given the front axle gets at least ~30% of that power).

A built vw bug trans can be had on the cheap, it would be a 4spd but the 914 one can be sold to offset the price, A vw bus trans is pretty beefy, adapter plates from the vw scene are super cheap, anything aircooled vw can be had for reach around prices.

really? It has been a few years for me. I had a 1955 ragtop (sunroof not vert) bug with a 2.0l 914 engine. Lost a ---- ton of cash on that one

wrx transmission/suspension/brakes/drivetrain is the same as '98-05 RS/TS platform.

Only 911 models. You can still get Bug motors for free and turn them into something comparable for a few hundred bucks. The pricey part is getting the fancy carbs.

Well on the sti all of this should be different, so if i wouldn't be able to get one of those, that will be my plan of action. Although i don't think the 914 will really need a 6-speed and the regular subie brakes should be plenty enough.
