Ok need some help on what to due.I am doing my b7-z6 swap,im depating on dueing a high compression 10:5(with y8 head gasket) or keep it down with a b7 head gasket(9 compression) an go turbo later.
But the thing is that the bottom end has 135k on it.So what would be best and if i go high compression what number u think ill put down

200-225ish WHP and the rods are going to let go either way. High compression and low boost gives good response with careful tuning. Besides the Z6/Y8 gasket is MLS and will hold up better and is easier to replace if you ever have to.

225 whp on b7 rods guess you havent taken oe apart. Dont listen to this clown. Simple low compression, run rich, and good timing map. Go make 180 whp and have fun. Wanna build a real all motor D

d16a6 with high compression 12.1 big cam, bitchin, head etc

mini me all motor is well weak

B7, no I've never pulled one apart. But I have a B1 torn down right now. Pretty much the same short block, and people have done it, but not for long.

the rods are pencil thick. Only a jdm d15b that has z6 rods can handle 220 whp and actual normal rippers

Sorry those d15b7/b2 blocks throw rods has fast has a crack ----- blows hotrex for a cracked manifold

I diden't say they would last, just that they will blow at that level no matter what. If I were going to run them I'd cap myself at 175 WHP and even then your never going to get the life Honda ment for them to have.

um wrong proper tuning a motor on boost should last well longer than the person will be happy with the build

Simple the rods wont even get to the point you claim. Its not a motor that take it simple. The throw rods becuase well there suppose to

again want a real D that will hold power

jdm d15b or any choice of the d16 motors including zc

LOL at the first line, just because your right but so many think blowing motors is the right thing to do. And I'm not argueing about useing the D16/D15B, parts avalibility really help in the descion, like rods for less than $800, and shelf stock pistons instead of custom made. It's why I have a Z6 waiting to replace my A6.

slap the z6 head on that b7, chip the ecu and drop in an si tranny, yeehaw, it works surprisingly well. another good combo, use an older a6 block with z6 head, those little babies rock too, oh one more, zc block with d15b head, or just the straight d15b, it's all good, rohc the sohc.
