i think ive come to the conclusion whatever series i choose if i wanna run high boost iam going to have to have sleeved. i guess i breaks down to what ever one has the best transmission and drive alxes i guess

H22A requires hybrid parts to fit on the shorter bodies (civics). They have a lot of problems with snapping the axles. But if you can find stronger ones, it would be well worth it IMO.

If you're going to be building, then forget what factory statistics are and look at what you'll end up with for X amount of money.

I decided to stay away from B-series and stick to build a Z6 motor, mostly for some originality (how many people are pushing 22 psi on their EX motors lol).
My biggest downside is that the engine heads on D-series don't flow as well as B-series. I don't care about the weak factory D rods, because i'll be replacing them, as well as pistons, sleeves, etc...
I don't plan on boring, just leaving dimensions factory and getting compression down to 8.5:1.

D16Z6s comparitvely to B-series are incredibly slow, but way I figure it you drop the compression of a b16a3 to 8.5:1 and its only going to be fractionally higher then a z6 with same compression (yes, it will have better flow and make more noise).

Just some additional things to consider:

1) how much money do you want to invest?
2) when do you want to have the car completed?
3) are you still learning about cars?
4) what other money grobbing factors are in your life (college, health insurance, rent, house payments, car payments, house insurance, wife)?

For me I realized that building a car while I'm doing part time work is a much better idea and doing it very slowly over the course of 2-4 years. This way when i'm done, I will have a more reliable, stronger, and fun ride.

I know I'm going to recieve criticism, because most people on here are just slapping what they've got together, boosting it and blowing it.

I'm sure jeff would agree with me, that doing things in haste with cars, fucks you in the long run.

its just a extra cam. lol

you can take your SOHC head to a performance machine shop. have them enlarge the ports for yah. someone has to make SOHC heads that have huge ports. like something you could just buy

oh you just jealous you dont have a B series motor. ;D Just kidding man...

It really up to you mike... You can make any car fast as long as you have the ends to back it up. From personal experiences H22a is damn fast in a hatch. And it requires alot of attention. Just like many of the motors out there. And i also driven B20 turbo that feels as fast. The choice is really up to you. If you are an all motor kind of guy or turbocharged.

BTW, how's the 450 cc injectors hunt goes for you? Hard to find it huh? Or did you even look? ;D

well after dropping a grand on tution and another 300 on books iam kinda broke now. and now i have to pay this hospital bill, i cut my finger today down to the tendon today trying to break loose the transmission drian bolt, it broke loose and my finger hit the trans mount. i wish i had my digital camera i woulda took a picture for u. i had to drive to the hospital because my mom is in a cast and both my cars and hers are stick. it was funny i felt like was going to pass out on the way there. i had to wait 2 hours to get my hand stiched up, ---- flordia health care...its hard to type with a bum hand but i do get to do ----- work for the next 10 days so it will be like a much needed vacation

sorry man, yeah I just dumped $2200 into this semester of school.
I'd say just take your time with it, I know you're probably like me (I want 22 psi now!!!) but without being practical you just end up with broken rods.
