The gsr engine does have slightly lower compression than a complete type r engine, but when using the b20 block, and a type r head, it seems like that engine would be boost-friendly. I don't think the differences in compression between just the gsr head and the type r head would be very much. The type r head probably flows alot better though, and I think the valvetrain is stronger.

the type r head does flow better, it comes from the factory with p&p, and yeah, the valvetrain is a lot stronger. so all in all, i guess it would be a little better than just a reg b16 or gsr head. btw, are we talking ctr or itr here? i was too lazy to look at the link.

Weird thing is, it's not either. The head is a mix of itr and ctr parts.

and hell, if its boosted you dont want to be going to 10grand in RPM and you wont need a p&p head cuz you're forcing air.. yah yah it might make a SMALL difference but not enough to warrant spending almost 2g on a damn HEAD! go get a nice b16 head and you'll be happy.

avoid gsr head cuz then you're stuck using a GSR IM, with those damn butterfly's
