B18c
i have crazy questions.
im planing to buy a 93 Hb it has a b18c(acura 199 with dc header + strud bars and drag tires the owner's selling it for 5000$ low mileage. ok here are my questions.
1. My friend said its not good to install a turbo on a vtec(since the b18c is vtec) he said it will ultimately blow the engine. isisit true? he said remove the vtec and install the turbo it will cut the life of the engine to 100,000miles. ( i think hes trying to pull my leg)
2. Plz recommand me how can i fix my car? what turbo should i use and springs and so on... i want to hear from all of you. thanks!

Re:B18c
That sounds like a decent price
ill answer #1 by saying your friend is retarded there are alot of people boosting vtec motors with no problem including me for the last 2 years 45,000 miles and more than half the people on this site if you want to boost at low levels 5-9 psi youll be fine if you want to go higher you should probably build it if you want it to last for a while. as for cutting down the engine life it depends on the condition of the engine, the milage, how well you take care of it, if you abuse it, what kind of set up you have and alot of other factors. if you take care of it it will last for a long time. as for your second question put a search in and just read around on the boards on this site and youll find your answer. good luck with it

Re:B18c
Not sure what he ment.. But a Boosted B-series feels incredibly good, I remember a few years back my first ride in a B16a turbo, pulled very nice! I personally dont care for all motor, but thats me, I know lots of guys that are totally into that.

Re:B18c
I had a few in me when I wrote that, I realize now that it doesn't make much sense. But heh, beer is good.
What I meant to say is that when VTEC kicks in on a boosted B-series, the compeition get considerably thinner. And smaller in your mirror...
