Default B18A1/Vtec head---Block Build Questions

I have a little money available and I have an idea of building an ls/vtec motor.

I have a stock b18a1 block and want to run it Overbored to 2.0/84mm with the stock rods/crank @ about 12.5:1 or 13:1 compression 84 mm pistons with about 8500-9000 redline, individual throttle bodies fpr,270cc injectors etc.....

B16a1/gsr head with the valvetrain/block ready to accept a redline of about 8800-9000 (in other words high compression/high redline/vtec/Daily driven/200 whp) I dont want to buy any Aftermarket rods/crank unless accomplishing this goal forces me to. Or maybe I wont think such high rpms anymore?? maybe 8k rpms is a realistic goal.

Does anyone have any piston/rod combo/info that will be fit for this setup? forged/JE/ctr pistons....) (stock rods reinforced w/arp bolts or Eagle Rods??)
2: Which program should I get the stock p28 ecu in my 95 civic ex to run with the vafc?? gsr/ctr/itr??
3: Does anyone know of a company that makes main/connecting rod/trust bearings that are not as likely to spin or get f**ed up when I have a valvetrain ready to handle redline set at 8900-9000 I saw these on egey http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW
Thanx in advance

all that work will cost a bit more then "a little" money!

Id skip the ITB, not very easy to accomplish. Just get a b18a, stuff some CTR or ITR pistons in it w/ some Crower Econo rods and get some nice r-spec cams, you'll be happy w/ that.

yeah really, how much is your budget here?

Just spend the money on a low milage LS block, slap the vtec head on it (leaving stock internals) and spend your money on the turbo kit.

If you want a N/A pure redline running motor, go with a VTEC B block or an H22

I have a stock b18a block right now with stock internals.
I heard you cannot put the vtec head on top of the stock ls block because the valves will hit the pr4 ls pistons, reliefs are almost non-existant on these pistons.
And with itr or ctr there are huge reliefs for the valves to clear.
Question: Does anyone know what Ratio I will yeild with the ITR or CTR pistons, Stock LS rods, B16A head

Jay, I've ran a couple ls/vtec's. My last setup with a B18a shortblock/B16a head w/ ITR cams. Piston=valve clearence is fine. I also swapped out the PR4 pistons w/ a set of PR3 pistons and they are fine too. I dont think you can overbore a stock sleeve to 84mm, thats really pushing it.

If you want to go all out you will need to sleeve the block, then you can run some big pistons.
