Re: B18a1 Setup - need opinion
If I were you I would look to internals (pistons at the very least) as well as some of the other stuff (intake, intake manifold, etc). Really decide where you want your car to be and what kind of power you want out of it. if you plan on boosting.. don't bother with a header, etc.
You're basically looking at running a stock B18A1 non vtec. It's a slow engine compared to what is available for a good swap. Mods like rad hose, plugs, gasket kit etc aren't full on mods. They're what you need to make it fit.
Find your right direction and then build it. If you're looking for something unexceiting you're on the right path. For more fun look for a different swap or boost applications.

Re: B18a1 Setup - need opinion
More thoughts:
You are totally wasting your money on that setup. And don't list stuff like radiator hoses, spark plugs, etc as a setup/mod. New timming belt, misc belts. Those are a given when you do any kind of swap. No sane person would use the old stuff. Bosch plugs are a waste of money especially those platnums. They're crap. Use your standard NGK. You don't need anything more than that, especially any "performance" plug because you aren't running anything with performace in that setup. Your list can be much simplified:
1) B18A1
2) S1,J1,A1,Y1 or YS1 Tranny
B18A1 swap into whatever with the parts to make it work and some new parts to replace old worn out ones.
Sorry to be cruel but you're looking for opinions on the setup. It won't be as fast as many many other regular street modded cars.
Good luck however in your endeavor and I hope with the $$ you invest you are happy with the results because that's all that counts in the end. Your happiness vs others opinions.
