if your in cali and want to register the engine with the car, go with the b18. the h22a isn't on the refs list for replacements. but then again, who cares about legalities anyway!

I am wondering the same thing i'm in the same situation, people say the h22 is to heavy but I mean who cares about weight? It might effect handling but just get stiffer springs up front and you will be fine, 2.2 vtec sounds realy nice but the gsr engine might be better in the end.

Here at the drag strip you hear more about people with a gs-r engine, that's the thing people drool over. But an h22, thats an engine. I've read other postings that say the h22 stearing pulls more than the others. But how bad is it?

Two things...

1. H22 is heavier and will make the car handle poorly
2. H22 is obviously a larger engine, and from what I hear on the underground, it does have more potential than the B18.

I'd say GSR and use the extra money for turbo kit or bolt ons....or turbo kit!!

The h22 is cheaper than a b18.You can get a Prelude front clip for about 2200 bucks shiped.A b18 will run you about 2800 bucks for just the engine with harness and ecu unless some one hooks your *** up.The h22 is heavier but with the right springs it should handel good. The h22 makes more torque than the b18 ever could in N/A trim so the aded weight is offset by torque.A h22 in a civic is good for 13sec. stock.
There seems to be some misconception in people about HP verses Torque.Torque is acceleration and horsepower is speed.I personally would choose the h22, turbo that ---- and with about 7-8 puonds you should be hitting 11sec. no problems.

well that my two pennies,

Rafael

h22 for all out drag and b18c1 for street/strip.

i would have to look at the weights for the engines but i think i would go with a b18c for street because it wont make the car too nose heavy.

i dont know the weights of the 2 engines though.
