ive just recently put a b16a in my 92 civic hb and ive noticed that its using a lot of coolant like 1/4 of my bottle a day... in the morning there is a small spot on the street where its leaking but i know it cant all be leaking out beacuse its just a small spot like the size of a cd ......any help would be great

blown head gasket? find where its leaking from... could be just a bad hose clamp... could be a serious issue

look at the crossmembers of your rad support area. If the RAD leaks then it pools there and you wont see alot of it on the ground. That, and if you see smoke coming from the engine bay its leaking around the rad and then evaporating because of the heat. If you don't see it there check your tail pipe. After the car is warm there shouldn't be any smoke coming from it. If you see white smoke then you are burning coolant. ALso, look for moisture around the tip of the exhaust.

well the leak is comming from where my rad is but its not cracked on the top and its not my overflow bottle could it possibly be from like air in the lines or something? i dunno

I'd be willing to bet that your rad. has a leak somewhere around the bottom of the unit. Try pulling off your front clip to see, or you could just get a flashlight and check all the way down the surface of the rad. If you really want to get crafty, and you don't care about dirt...sprinkle some find dirt all the way down the back of the radiator, and then look to see where it sticks. It should be pretty obvious.

check around your hoses too. If its a manual car. there should be like 2 hoses only on it and one for the overflow, just take the damn thing out, its not that hard and see where it leaks. BUt check for leaks around the hoses aswell.. Make sure the clamps are tight.

ok it turns out its not my rad im leaking fluid between my tranny and block on the bottem is there any 'quick fix" or will i have it take it all apart again??

and you thought it was coolant! what do u have in that tranny! :) ya, replace the gasket.

replace the head gasket? if you are leaking fluid between the tranny and block, its more than likly a rear main seal, you need to remove the tranny, remove the flywheel and replace the seal, Or it could be possibly the oil pan seal.

i never said head gasket! lol i just couldnt remember the name "rear main seal" he knew what i meant though!
