Have you had any experience with the OBX unit? Any input at all on that subject? Alot of people on this board are curious about it, but are catious and don't want to be the first guy to find out if it's good or bad.

I've installed 2 so far for other people. First one, yet to know if Blundar (PGMFI) has installed his tranny yet, the other is being delivered tomorrow.

Two issues have came up so far.......

Shimming......Honda didn't machine the Y8 cases as deep as the A6/Z6 cases, thus using a smaller shim. The OBX LSD is .7-.9 mm wider than stock. So both installs are running without ANY shims. The clearance is supposed to be .004" when shimmed. The smallest shim is .0394". Y8 #1 was .019" clearance, Y8#2 was .014"........

PBX plus all part needed for install, including replacing ISB while case is opened........



Second issue.........freaking ring gear bolts!!!!! The edges of the heads hit the diff case plus the socket gets jammed once bolts are tighten down. I'm even using a OLD thinwalled Craftsman socket, still not thin enough.

i myself just installed the type R lsd seems to make me happy for 200 bucks on ebay it works great

I had a phantom grip on one of my dx trannys and the diff pin broke in half. I was launching at 8 grand, so that may have had something to do with it.

I used the AZrace Twin trac in lots of my b-series setups, it worked ok for the most part.

I have a type R LSD at home I plan on installing when I get back. what are all the parts I need to order so I can do this intallation a success? ie. seal gaskets and such. B16 hydro tranny
